Sandwich Real Estate

Sandwich (EST.1763) is named in honor of John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich, believed to be the inventor of the sandwich. Sandwich is one of the largest towns in New Hampshire.

The towns population in 1830 was 2700, which is higher than the current population. At this time the town had many working farms, stores, mills, carpenters, and blacksmiths. By the end of the 1800s with most of its population leaving to find work in larger cities, the town began to attract visitors, summer residents, and artists.

The summer one can find exceptional views of the mountains and lakes. Popular activities include, swimming, boating, and fishing on Squam Lake. The Potholes and Beede Falls, are natures water parks, were some go to escape and cool off. Autumn brings, a buzz of excitement to the picture perfect town. The crisp air, spectacular foliage, and the Annual Sandwich Fair, attract visitors from near and far. The winter months will find Sandwich covered in a blanket of snow, with miles of trails to explore. When the sap starts to run from the maple trees, it is a sign of spring. With its natural beauty Sandwich is both tranquil vacation and year-round community.

Sandwich students attend Sandwich Central School (K-6) in Sandwich, and Inter-Lakes Junior-Senior High School in Meredith, joining students from Center Harbor and Meredith.
