Center Harbor Real Estate
Center Harbor remains a quiet “getaway” town in the heart of the lakes region. The town acquired its name from its harbor on Lake Winnipesaukee centered between Meredith and Moultonborough, and also from the Senter family, who were owners of a large amount of property in the area. It is located 118 miles north of Boston, Massachusetts, and 50 miles northeast of Concord, New Hampshire. With a long history of being a summer destination, the town began as a landing place for lake steamboats and stagecoaches. It is the winter home of the Mt. Washington, the largest boat on Lake Winnipesaukee. Located in the center of town, the historic Kona Fountain was presented to Center Harbor by Herbert Dumaresq in 1907. It is a sculpture of an Indian in crouching position holding up a goose's head.
